CAN-USA Presents at Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) Google Complex Mountain View

  • Sharebar

CAN-USA is participating at the RHoK two day hackathon in Mountain View Google Complex. Three problem definitions were presented on behalf of Nepal at the event.

Programmer from Nepal Jitendra Harlalkal (Nepal), Bineet Sharma and Bijay Niraula were able to explain to several interested “hackers” regarding the problem with Sahana software. Sahana is an open source disaster management platform that Nepal Government is also implementing to manage disaster preparedness. Leon Smith and Ryan Falor were able to guide the efforts in Nepal and provide some solution ideas.

There were other problem ideas presented by different individuals. Please find below samples of those. Some of these problem ideas are very pertinent to Nepal too. RHoK.org has a list of other problem ideas and solutions. If you are interested to provide technical solutions to disaster management, this is a great opportunity.

This hackathon will continue until Sunday. More information @ http://www.rhok.org/
