High Altitude Cooking- Temperatures Adjustment

There needs to be some adjustment while cooking in high altitude. Boiling temperatures are considerably affected by high altitude and thus affecting cooking time. Foods take longer to cook in high altitude.

Boiling temperature of water at different altitude is given below.

  • Sea Level:   212 F or 100 C
  • 2000 Ft:     208 F or 98 C
  • 5000 Ft:     203 F or 95 C
  • 7500 Ft:     198 F or 92 C
  • 10,000Ft:  194 F or 90 C
  • Top of Everest: 158 F or 70 C
