Police launching project on gender-equality

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police held an inception meeting in order to run “Project on Advancing Gender-Equality in Conflict Setting” with the UNDP’s support at its headquarters in Naxal here in the Capital on Sunday.

During the meeting, the participants had held discussion on the project for its effective implementation. The UNDP and Nepal Police have been joinlty working in creating awareness on gender-related issues.

Additional Inspector General (AIG) Navaraj Dhakal pointed out the essence of the project and hailed the UNDP for its assistance. He expressed his belief that the conclusion and suggestions collected from today’s discussion will help make the project effective.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Surendra Bahadur Shah shared his experiences regarding the gender equality and suggesting how the project can be operated effectively.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kiran Bajracharya presented a paper on the general equality in Nepal Police and the condition of women personnel in the force.

Keshav Dahal, the project manager, assured that the UNDP was ready to provide necessary assistance to run the project.
